and the siren's song is through.
Many paths are left to wander

When the sky comes crashing down
tearing us in two -
though the road may lead to nowhere,

I'll catch you if you stumble.
I'll carry you if you should fall,
even when it seems we stand no chance at all.
Down this winding highway are different trials 'round every bend.
It matters little to us as long as we're together at the end.

I may be silent for a while, or I may bicker like a child.
I'm only waiting for some clarity to ring through.
I may seek solace in a friend, or wait here for my happy ending,
but when it's cold, and when it's dark, I reach for you.

Looking out my window I see stars that never shine,

But the question still remains -
Why do you run away from me?
And no, the words don't seem to come for what I really want to say.
And my lips are getting numb as I ask you to stay.
And now they're slipping off my tongue...
I should have better turned away.
And "I'm sorry for what I've done."
But what can I say?
It's never how you planned it. It's never how you dreamed.
But if you hope for understanding, it will be.

I've finally found this from within, finally reached where I begin.
Passed the test and I'm still standing.
And I've given all I can, taken more than I can stand.
Lost it all for gaining nothing.
And you can try and crush my dreams -
try and kill all I believe.
And tho I struggle still, you'll never hold me down.
And there is nothing you can take,
nothing I have left that you can steal.
I'm propped up by my own will.
And even tho my heart still breaks,
I'm picking up the pieces that have spilled,
and my heart is beating still.
I've been on this path so long, made decisions right and wrong.
But through it all I've stumbled forward.
But no matter where I've gone, it gets me to where I belong.
And so I struggle onward.
And tho sometimes I've gone astray,
I have always found my way.
I only have my myself, and to this fate I'm bound.
Don't tell me the sky is falling.
My resolution will not die.
But down on my knees and crawling
I hold my head up high.
